KATHMANDU, Oct. 2 -- Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to provide free ambulance service during Dashain.

KMC Mayor Balendra Shah wrote on a social networking site that the metropolis has made special arrangements for Dashain holidays. "Arrangements have been made to maintain a 24-hour hotline service, so you can call 1180 to get information on dengue. You can get free ambulance service by calling 102," he wrote on Facebook.

He further added that arrangements have been made to distribute cetamol and Jeevan Jal through 558 volunteers. "You will be able to get Cetamol and Jeevan Jal through the nearest health volunteer."
