KATHMANDU, Sept. 11 -- Newly-appointed chief of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Nepal, Lorena Lando, presented her credentials to Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali on Tuesday. Receiving the credentials, Minister Gyawali congratulated Lando.

United Nations Resident Coordinator for Nepal Dr Jos Vandelaer was present at the ceremony.

Lando, an Italian national who has served as an IOM official for over 20 years and was previously the agency's Chief of Mission in Tunisia, underlined IOM's commitment to support the government in its pursuit of safe, orderly and regular migration as envisioned by the Global Compact on Migration and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
