United Arab Emirates, Sept. 9 -- Asia Cup, one of the most significant cricketing events on the Asian continent, is set to begin on the 27th of August. Ever since its introduction in 1984, Asia Cup has become a tournament that cricketing fans from Asia and all over the world have looked forward to. Throughout its history, the tournament has given us some memorable matchups and some electrifying performances from fan favorite players.

This year's edition of the tournament is set to be held in the United Arab Emirates; it is one of the most anticipated tournaments because there hasn't been anything of much significance following the T20 World Cup last year.

India has been the most successful team in the tournament's history, having won seven titles, followed by Sri Lanka and Pakistan with five and two titles, respectively. This is only the second time in the tournament's history that it will be played in the T20 format, the first time being in 2016.

Sri Lanka was set to host the tournament initially; however, following the political crisis that wreaked havoc on the whole country, the location was shifted to the UAE.

Regardless of the location, the Asia Cup has some exciting matchups in store for us, and many are expecting the tournament to be one of the best we have seen recently. If you are a cricket fan who loves to bet, you can find best odds on Bet777.

Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are set to play the first match of the tournament against each other, followed by a game between India and Pakistan, something that the whole world is looking forward to.

India and Pakistan have given us some of the best cricket games of all time and it seems like we might be getting yet another game to remember soon.

Given the current form and squads that each team has, we look at which team has the best chances of winning the Asia Cup this year.

1. India

Ever since their disappointing exit in the T20 World Cup last year, the men in blue have not looked back and have won 19 out of their 24 T20 matches. They are one of the most in-form teams in the cricketing world right now, and many expect them to work their way towards the trophy with ease.

Along with this, the Indian cricket team is full of talent from top to bottom, and apart from Pakistan, there isn't a team that can give them a proper challenge. However, you never know how things might turn given the unpredictability of the game, but as things remain, India is the favorite to win Asia Cup 2022.

2. Pakistan

Last year, the Pakistan Cricket team took everyone by surprise and made it to the semifinals of the T20 World Cup, beating India by 10 wickets during its opening game. However, ever since then, Pakistan has not been as active in the T20 format, and experts believe they don't have what it takes to win the tournament.

Additionally, the Green Shirts have also suffered a blow in the form of an injury to Shaheen Shah Afridi, their best bowler, and it is likely to take a big toll on the team's performance and overall confidence. But then again, the game of cricket is full of surprises; we can never know for sure how a team is going to perform until we see them on the pitch.

3. Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan team has been out of form ever since the T20 World Cup, and it is highly unlikely they can put up a real challenge in order to win the tournament.

4. Bangladesh

Just like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh had a disappointing T20 World Cup, and has continued to underperform ever since. All these factors make it unlikely for them to mount a proper challenge this time around.
