Finland, Aug. 18 -- The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency has awarded YIT the contract to construct a new railway bridge and track section in Syrjasalmi, Kitee. The project will replace the existing bridge, completed in 1967, which has reached the end of its lifecycle. The new structure will improve safety and durability, with a total contract value of approximately EUR 15 million.Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2025 and will continue until December 2026. The new bridge is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2026.
