Versalis to start up new recycled polymer production plant at Porto Marghera
Italy, March 24 -- Versalis, Eni's chemical company, announces the opening of a new plant in Porto Marghera for the production of plastics made wholly or partially from mechanically recycled raw materials. This project marks another key milestone in the company's commitment to promoting a more circular and environmentally sustainable economy through technological innovation and post-consumer plastics recycling.The Porto Marghera facility has an annual production capacity of up to 20,000 tonnes of crystal polystyrene (r-GPPS) and expandable polystyrene (r-EPS), using secondary raw materials (SRM) obtained from the recycling of expanded polystyrene (EPS) waste.
