More than 150 MW: Bedburg and RWE are expanding wind power
Germany, April 14 -- This is the third wind farm project between the two partners: RWE and the town of Bedburg are building nine more wind turbines with a total output of around 60 megawatts (MW) on recultivated land at the Garzweiler open-cast mine. With the new 'Windpark Bedburg 3', the two partners will then operate a total of 156 MW of wind power in the municipality of Bedburg. Construction of the wind farm, which will be built in the immediate vicinity of the existing 'Konigshovener Hohe' and 'Bedburg A44n' wind farms, is scheduled to begin in April.As with the 'Konigshovener Hohe' and 'Bedburg A44n' wind farms, the town of Bedburg and RWE each hold a 50 per cent stake in the new wind farm.
