Japan, Feb. 17 -- On January 28, a commemorative ceremony was held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, marking the launch of technical cooperation aimed at establishing and strengthening capacity at the ASEAN Centre for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases (ACPHEED).ACPHEED will serve as a key hub for preparedness, detection, and response to public health emergencies and emerging infectious diseases in the ASEAN region. The Japanese government announced its support for the center's establishment at the Special ASEAN Plus Three Summit on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) held in April 2020.
