Belgium, Oct. 22 -- Jan De Nul has launched its newest cable-laying vessel, the Fleeming Jenkin, which the company will use to install subsea cables for renewable energy transmission. With a loading capacity of 28,000 tonnes, the vessel is the largest of its kind worldwide. Delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2026, the company said in a statement. The launch took place at the CMHI Haimen shipyard in China by flooding the dry dock. The vessel now enters its final construction phase, including sea trials.
