Investment in run-of-river hydroelectric power generation project in Da Nang, Vietnam
Vietnam, Oct. 22 -- Sumitomo Corporation has acquired a 49% stake in Mekong Electric Power Engineering and Development Joint Stock Company, which owns the Dak Di 1 & 2 run-of-river hydroelectric power plant project (total generating capacity: 48 MW; hereinafter, "the Project") located in Da Nang City, Vietnam, from GreenSpark Group, a Vietnamese renewable energy developer.The project is an existing power generation project that is scheduled to begin operation in 2022 and has already concluded a 20-year power purchase agreement with the state-owned Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group.
