Peru, Sept. 19 -- The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved a loan of up to $177.3 million to help rehabilitate Peru's prison population by modernizing prison system management, professionalizing personnel, and expanding programs for rehabilitation, education, employment, and treatment. The project, Comprehensive Improvement of Social Reintegration Services in Peru, will be led by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
