Description: Controlling electron spin through a magnetic vortex

Electron spin control is key to unleashing the potential of spintronics, quantum sensing and quantum information processing. Control of the rate of spin transitions determines the fidelity of quantum states and the accuracy in quantum sensing applications. Addressing individual spins with high spatial resolution is essential for scaling quantum computers. The EU-funded FastoSpintrolux project plans to optically manipulate single vortices (optical tweezers) to address individual spins.
