China, March 6 -- Evonik will license its hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production technology to China Pingmei Shenma Group Nylon Technology (Shenma) to build an H2O2 megaplant with an annual capacity of 200 kilotons in Pingdingshan, Henan Province. The H2O2 produced in the new plant will be captive-used for Shenma's own production of caprolactam - a key precursor for nylon 6. The signing was celebrated on March 5, 2025, in Pingdingshan. Startup of the H2O2 megaplant is expected in 2026.Shenma is a major player in the Chinese chemical fiber industry, covering the entire value chain for nylon 6 and nylon 66.
