Spain, May 21 -- The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed an €50 million loan with the Port Authority of Malaga to finance the expansion and electrification of the Port of Malaga. This project highlights maritime transport as an alternative to other more carbon-intensive modes of transport. With this loan, the EIB is also helping to make maritime transport more sustainable and efficient.The EIB loan will make it possible to invest in the construction of a new multi-use maritime terminal, and in the electrification of all port terminals to supply electricity to docked ships.
