EBRD helps Kyrgyz city of Osh upgrade its public transport
Kyrgyz Republic, July 8 -- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD ) is providing funds to develop sustainable transportation solutions in the city of Osh in the Kyrgyz Republic. This is the second project under the EBRD Green Cities programme, which the city joined in May 2025. Home to more than 450,000 people and known as the country's southern capital, Osh will receive a sovereign EBRD loan of up to €14.7 million for the benefit of the Osh City Municipal Autotransport Company.The EBRD's loan will finance the acquisition of electric vehicles and support a strategic shift from traditional carbon-intensive public transport patterns to eco-friendly, sustainable mobility principles.
