Kyrgyz Republic, March 17 -- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union (EU) are helping to improve water conveyance infrastructure for better water resource management, promote sustainable agriculture and create new jobs in the Kyrgyz Republic by financing the reconstruction and automation of a section of the Western Great Chui Canal.A financial package of up to €23.8 million is being provided under the EBRD's Regional Integrated Water Resources Management Framework for the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan, which was approved by the EBRD's Board of Directors in 2024.
