EBRD, EU, GCF and Canada foster climate mitigation and adaptation in Morocco
United Kingdom, May 6 -- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), supported by the European Union (EU), the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Canada through the EBRD's High-Impact Partnership on Climate Action (HIPCA), is extending up to €65 million in green financing to Banque marocaine pour le commerce et l'industrie (BMCI).Provided as part of the EU-backed Morocco Decarbonisation and Climate Resilience programme, the financing package includes €1.75 million from the GCF and €2.4 million from Canada to support small, mid-sized and larger companies' green projects.BMCI is the first bank in Morocco to benefit from this comprehensive Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) Plus package.
