BASF's OASE(R) blue supports CCAT in carbon capture and storage project at Taiwan power plant
Germany, May 8 -- BASF has signed a license agreement with Carbon Cap Applications Technology Co. (CCAT) to provide its OASE(R) blue gas treatment technology for a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project at the Taichung Power Plant Carbon Reduction Technology Park, operated by Taiwan Power Company (Taipower), Taiwan's largest electricity provider.This collaboration combines CCAT's advanced technology and engineering solutions with BASF's proven OASE(R) blue carbon capture technology. The project, which was awarded and started up at the end of 2023, is expected to capture 2,000 tons of CO2 annually, according to Taipower's design and planning requirements.
