Balfour Beatty awarded first phase of SSEN Transmission's Netherton Hub
United Kingdom, Sept. 22 -- Balfour Beatty has been awarded the initial works of the Netherton Hub project by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks Transmission's (SSEN) multi-billion-pound Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) Offshore Framework. The company was appointed to the ASTI offshore framework in 2024.Balfour Beatty, appointed as the common interface contractor, will undertake all associated civil engineering and building works to construct the Spittal to Peterhead High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Converter Station which will form part of the Netherton Hub located near Peterhead, Scotland.
