Alstom signs a contract with ViaMobilidade for the implementation of a new signalling system on Lines 8 and 9 in Sao Paulo
Brazil, May 30 -- Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, announces the signing of a contract with ViaMobilidade, the operator of Sao Paulo's Lines 8-Diamond and 9-Emerald, and the Government of Sao Paulo, enabling a R$1 billion investment to modernize the signalling system of both lines. The agreement includes the implementation of the first European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 in Latin America, marking a new milestone in the modernization of urban mobility in Sao Paulo's capital.The modernization will be carried out within the six-year contractual term, with immediate commencement of the projects following the service order.
