PALLAHARA, June 13 -- A tribal youth died of grievous cut injuries after unknown miscreants slit his throat at Ratha Sahi here on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Prasanna Nayak (26).
According to sources, some locals found the youth's body lying in a pool of blood and immediately alerted police. Acting swiftly, the Pallahara police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
Prasanna's wife Basanti Nayak said that her uncle Ratha Nayak had called Prasanna to take bath in a nearby pond in evening time. But Prasanna didn't return till night, she added.
She alleged that her uncle, who has fled from village, has committed the crime. Police said an investigation into the incident was on.
