NEW DELHI, Aug. 24 -- The number of liquor shops in the national Capital has increased in the past five years, shows a data submitted by the Deputy Chie Minister Manish Sisodia in the Delhi legislative Assembly on Friday.

As per the data, in 2012-13, there were 682 liquors shops in the city, while the current number is 863 and the revenue collected from alcohol has gone up by Rs 780 crore since 2016- 17.

Sisodia who also holds the Finance portfolio, informed the Delhi Assembly that no new liquor store has been opened in the national capital after August 2016. He submitted the following the data and answered to the questions put by the Chandini Chowk Assembly MLA Alka Lamba.
