Kolkata, Oct. 22 -- Mamata Banerjee has once again cried out against possible implementation of National Register of Citizens asking the people of North Bengal to "unite against the NRC wallas" by taking lessons from what happened in Assam.

Addressing a meeting at Siliguri the Bengal Chief Minister said "like in Assam where they have thrown out, 4 lakh Muslims, one lakh Nepali besides, lakhs of Biharis and other North Indians and 11 lakh Bengali Hindus out of which a sizeable number of Rajbangshis and Kamptapuris they (the BJP Govermment) are planning to make you foreigners in your own country by invoking NRC," and asked the people of North Bengal to "unite against their nefarious designs."
