By dominating the Global South in economic terms, the Chinese will, over time, also dominate it in political terms. India would then be in danger of being left with the crumbs of the Global South leadership. The way out, therefore, is to tread the hard yards required to position ourselves alongside China as the twin economic engine of the developing world, albeit in a ceteris paribus setting.
