Ranchi, Sept. 12 -- The State Cabinet on Wednesday approved Mukhyamantri Patrakar Jeevan Beema Yojana (Chief Minister Journalist Life Insurance Scheme). Under this scheme the accredited journalists working in Jharkhand will be covered under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana.
The Cabinet decided that the premium to be paid under the two schemes will be covered by State Information and Public Relations Department from the Jharkhand Journalist Welfare Fund. In case of death of a journalist covered under the Scheme, his or her dependent would get Rs 2 lakh each, under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana, hence a total of Rs 4 lakh.
