Manila, Feb. 14 -- The Philippines was eliminated from the Badminton Asia Team Championships as Indonesia swept the host country in the quarterfinals, 3-0, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum here on Friday.

Indonesia, ranked third in the world, made quick work of the Philippines in the Final 8 round, although Ros Pedrosa, Peter Magnaye, and Alvin Morada had some bright moments.

Pedrosa, the top men's singles player in the Philippines right now, put up a great fight against world number five Anthony Ginting in the second set of their match, but Ginting still proved to be strong as he hacked out a 21-10, 21-16 win.
