Manila, Dec. 8 -- Olympic-bound Ernest John Obiena and Fil-American Kristina Marie Knott won the gold in the men's pole vault and women's 200-meter run of the 30th Southeast Asian Games Saturday night before a delighted home crowd at the New Clark City Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.

Knott was also just as impressive, running her way to the gold with a new SEA Games record of 23.01 seconds. During the morning qualifying heats, she clocked 23.07 to erase the old SEA Games mark (23.30) set by Supavadee Khawpeag of Thailand in 2001 Kuala Lumpur meet.
