Manila, March 20 -- The provincial health office of Maguindanao has taken one step ahead to ensure civilians displaced by the ongoing skirmishes between government forces and a terrorist group in Maguindanao are spared from common diseases. Dr. Tahir Sulaik, Maguindanao health chief, said that internally displaced persons (IDPs) now cramped in various evacuation sites are vulnerable to air and water-borne diseases. IPHO reports showed that some of the IDPs have already been suffering from cough, colds, and skin rashes while some of the adults have become hypertensive.
