Manila, Jan. 20 -- The low pressure area (LPA) spotted 100 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over most parts of Luzon and Eastern Visayas, the weather bureau said Wednesday afternoon.

This LPA is less likely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa, the Bicol Region, Calabarzon, and Eastern Visayas.
