Manila, June 23 -- Over 2.5 million novel coronavirus cases and over 64,000 deaths were registered worldwide in the past week, the World Health Organization (WHO) said in its weekly bulletin released in Geneva early on Wednesday.

"Global numbers of cases and deaths continued to decrease over the past week (June 14-20, 2021) with over 2.5 million new weekly cases and over 64,000 deaths, a 6 percent and a 12 percent decrease, respectively, compared to the previous week," the global organization said in its Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) Weekly Epidemiological Update.
