Manila, Aug. 6 -- President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday called on members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to stay "resilient" by implementing strict quarantine protocols under the "new normal" amid the prevailing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
In a taped message aired during the PNP police service's 119th anniversary, Duterte thanked the organization for its "selfless" service as a front-liner in the country's fight against Covid-19.
"I congratulate everyone - especially the outstanding units and deserving personnel that will be awarded today - for your crucial role in making the PNP a highly dynamic, professional, and responsive organization," he said.
