MANILA, Feb. 1 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will be monitoring the compliance with campaign rules of the four candidates gunning the seat for the seventh legislative district of the province of Cavite.

"All four Election Officers (EOs) in the 7th District will be on standby to implement the rules on campaign material posting, common poster areas," Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said in a statement Wednesday.

While no campaign violations have so far been reported, Laudiangco said one gun ban offense was reported by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
