CATBALOGAN CITY, July 12 -- The new mayor here asked local traffic enforcers to set an example by observing traffic laws.
Mayor Dexter Uy made the statement on Friday after receiving several complaints that members of local traffic force are among the violators of traffic laws such as not wearing helmets while driving a motorcycle.
"Under my administration, I will not tolerate law enforcers who don't know how to abide laws," Uy told reporters.
The Land Transportation Office Samar field office, Samar Provincial Police Office, and the Catbalogan City Police Station started the strict enforcement of Helmet Law this month.
