Manila, April 16 -- Over 250,000 formal workers in the tourism sector have received their cash assistance under the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), an official said on Friday.
In a Laging Handa presser, Labor Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay of the Employment and General Administration Cluster of the DOLE reported that some 250,000 workers affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic have benefitted from CAMP translating to PHP1.26 billion as of April 15.
"We also have processed more than 151,000 workers from tourism-related sector to the tune of PHP758 million that are being processed for payment within the month of April," Tutay said.
