Fiji, Oct. 3 -- The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), through the Office of the Pacific Ocean Commissioner (OPOC) has used the Pacific Ocean Alliance meeting in Suva this week to get feedbacks on the region's 30 year roadmap for the Blue Pacific Continent, or the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.

The new roadmap will take into account the Pacific region's vulnerabilities to escalating climate change related impacts and increased geostrategic competition. Leaders decided in Tuvalu when they met in August this year that the future prosperity and viability of the Blue Pacific will require a long term vision and a collective commitment to achieve it.
