Samoa, Dec. 1 -- The measles death toll in Samoa has worsened by four more during the past 24 hours.

This was confirmed by the National Emergency Operation Centre's latest measles update, issued on Sunday afternoon.

"To date, 48 measles related deaths have been recorded, with four fatalities in the last 24 hours," the update reads.

Since the outbreak started, the Ministry of Health has recorded 3,530 measles cases.

A hundred and seventy three of those were recorded in the last 24 hours.

"There are currently 191 measles cases who are in-patients at all health facilities," the update reads.

"Of this, 163 are at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital (TTMH), 2 at Poutasi District Hospital, 4 at Lalomanu District Hospital, 18 at the Leulumo...
