United States, Sept. 25 -- Fiji's Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says the country needs to climate-proof its health systems to fight the impacts of climate change.

Speaking at the High- Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in New York this week, Bainimarama said climate change has increased health insecurity worldwide.

He said Fiji has set a priority on providing unfettered access to high-quality healthcare for all Fijians, with special efforts underway to reach the society's most vulnerable: women, children, the elderly and the disadvantaged
