SAMBALPUR, Oct. 21 -- Police today registered a case against some doctors of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science And Research (VIMSAR) in Sambalpur over multiple charges including allegedly thrashing a patient's relative and then forcing him to do sit-ups in full public glare. On the basis of a complaint lodged by father of the victim, a case was registered under sections 506, 323, 341 and 34 of IPC against the accused doctors.
The matter came to the fore on Sunday after a video purportedly showing some doctors verbally abusing and forcing a youth, Mukesh Behera, to do sit-ups in the hospital premises went viral.
