Bhubaneswar, Jan. 24 -- In an unusual incident, several vaccine vials were found discarded on the roadside near the Jalakhai area under the Beleguntha block of Ganjam district on Saturday.

The vials, which did not carry any price markings, are believed to be part of the government supply.

The expiry date on the vials is November 2026, raising questions as to why they were discarded when they still had nearly 10 months of shelf life remaining.

The incident has prompted concerns among local residents. However, they remain clueless about who threw the vaccine vials onto the roadside.

Bhanjanagar Sub-Collector Umashankar Behera stated that a detailed inquiry into the incident will be conducted, and appropriate action will be taken.
