Bhubaneswar, Feb. 16 -- In an announcement about world ranking, International Cricket Council (ICC) had showed India as the No.1 Test side on Wednesday. After the ICC announcement, fans were excited and speculations were rife that India displaced Australia from the top spot following their emphatic victory in the first Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Nagpur.

However, later on the same day ICC issued another updated list that showed Rohit Sharma's side back at No.2. Clarifying about the update, ICC sought apology citing technical glitch for the blunder.

Cricket's global body ICC admitted the error by issuing a statement on Thursday.
