Bhubaneswar, Dec. 1 -- In an extraordinary act of generosity, a centenarian doctor from Odisha is set to donate her entire life savings to AIIMS Bhubaneswar. And not a few lakhs, she will be donating a staggering amount of Rs 3.4 crore on the occasion of her 100th birthday.

The donor, Dr Lakshmi Bai, a renowned gynaecologist from the Berhampur region, was born on December 5, 1926. She dedicated her entire life to serving patients and is remembered as one of the most compassionate medical practitioners of her time.

Dr Lakshmi Bai was among the first batch of students at the SCB Medical College in Cuttack. As per sources, all formal paperwork for transferring the donation to AIIMS Bhubaneswar has already been completed. She will formally ...
