Bhubaneswar, Sept. 17 -- Subarnarekha river on Friday breached the danger mark near Rajghat in Balasore district and reportedly flowing at 10.41 metre against the danger level of 10.36 metre.

As per reports, the flood-like situation further turned grim after the authorities of Galudiha barrage released 6100 cusec water from the reservoir. As many as 40 villages under Bhograi block and 30 villages in Baliapal block situated in low lying areas have been affected by the excess water.

Meanwhile, Hirakud Dam authorities have opened as many as 28 of its sluice gates to effectively manage the excess water entering into the reservoir.
