Bhubaneswar, April 16 -- Keeping in view the intense heat-wave conditions across Odisha, the State government has 'pre-poned' summer vacation in schools to April 18.

In a letter to the Principal Secretary of the School & Mass Education Department, the Revenue and Disaster Management Department wrote,"In view of the prevailing heat conditions in the State, it has been decided by the government to pre-pone and start the summer vacations from April 18, 2019."

The announcement comes at a time when most of the districts across Odisha are reeling under intense heat. Today, Bhubaneswar recorded the highest temperature of 43.7 degrees Celsius while eight cities across Odisha recorded temperature over 40 degrees Celsius. Normal life has been affec...
