Bhubaneswar, Jan. 3 -- In yet another major drug haul at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, officials have seized a large quantity of marijuana from a passenger arriving from Bangkok on Saturday.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) intercepted the passenger at the Bhubaneswar airport and recovered around 8 kilograms of marijuana from the luggage.

According to officials, the contraband was cleverly concealed inside the passenger's baggage in an attempt to evade security checks. The seized marijuana is estimated to have an international market value of approximately Rs 8 crore.
