Bhubaneswar, Oct. 18 -- The president of a school managing committee, who was detained in connection with his alleged role in the missing of a lady teacher, has escaped from the custody of Titlagarh Police.

Govinda Sahu, the president of Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling under Sindhekela Police limits of Kalahandi district, was detained on Sunday night for questioning in connection with the missing case of the lady teacher Mamita Meher.

According to sources, the accused went to the bathroom on the pretext of washing his hands and slipped out of Titlagarh police barrack.
