Kartik Brata: Admin Asks Habishyalis Not To Visit Puri In View Of COVID-19 Pandemic
Bhubaneswar, Oct. 29 -- Puri: The Puri district administration on Thursday urged Habisyalis (women devotees who observe Kartik brata) not to visit the pilgrim town during the holy month of Kartik this year in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a large number of pilgrims (particularly widows and women) usually flock Puri in service of the Lord Jagannath and observe Kartika Brata, they will be at risk because most of the Habishyalis are elderly and fall in the COVID-19- vulnerable group.
