Bhubaneswar, May 26 -- Paradip-Haldia crude oil pipeline of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) ruptured near IOCL township in Paradip on Thursday and crude oil leaking out of it spread in the area.

Fire Services personnel reached the spot and started operation immediately to stop the leakage.

As per reports, a portion of the Paradip-Haldia pipeline of the IOCL ruptured leading to outflow of the crude oil towards the nearby farmlands. Hundreds of litres of crude oil got wasted as it spread in the area.

Fire Services personnel and IOCL technicians have been engaged to plug the pipe and restore normalcy.

Vehicular movements on the road near the spot of the incident have been prohibited to avoid any untoward incident.
