Bhubaneswar, Dec. 27 -- In a major political development, hundreds of workers from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bolagarh Block of Khordha district on Saturday.

As per reports, ward members, a former samiti member, and several grassroots BJD workers formally resigned from their party and joined the BJP during the program held at Rajsunakhala Kalyan Mandap in Badakumari Panchayat under the leadership of State BJP Vice-President Jatin Mohanty.

Additionally, hundreds of BJD workers from Asarala, Bankoi and Begunia panchayats also switched allegiance and joined the BJP.
