Bhubaneswar, June 12 -- Jeypore: Even as most districts in Odisha remain under lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19, criminals are coming up with new tricks to dodge police surveillance for smuggling narcotics substances.

In one such incident that exposed the innovative modus operandi of the smugglers, Ganja (dry cannabis) worth over Rs 1 crore has been seized by the police from an Oxygen cylinder-laden truck in Jeypore of Koraput district.

Senior police officials said that around 1,277 kilograms of Ganja was seized from the truck which was transporting the contraband from Koraput to Lucknow. Two persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
