Bhubaneswar, Jan. 4 -- Former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin has backed the BCCI for how it handled the controversy involving Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman and his participation in IPL 2026. The issue erupted after several political leaders objected to Rahman's presence in the league, pointing to repeated reports of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
With criticism mounting, the BCCI moved quickly and directed Kolkata Knight Riders to release the left-arm fast bowler from their squad.
