Bhubaneswar, June 11 -- Expressing concerns over the exclusion of Odia language from Swayam portal, the Minister of Electronics, Information and Technology, Tusharkanti Behera has said that Odisha will write to the Centre to reconsider its decision.

The pandemic had resulted in a surge in demand for online education and dropping Odia from the Swayam portal by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is like depriving the students of Odisha from the facility, he said.

"Last year, a decision was taken to translatecourses into 10 selected languages. However, Odia language has been dropped. It's saddening, unjustified and unfortunate," said the State E & IT Minister.
